My reference playlist hasn’t changed much in the past 10+ years. Why? Because familiarity is KEY when it comes to choosing your reference track list.
What makes this list great is that I’ve logged significant time listening to them inside AND outside my studio. In the car. On headphones. So I know these tracks translate, no matter where you take them. And that means that I can use them to guide and enhance my approach when I start a new mix.
